I am a licensed attorney with over twenty years of legal service experience representing clients in both civil and criminal legal matters.
How We Got Started
I started my law practice after thirty years of working in government. I have an extensive background in helping businesses and non-profit organization. In addition to my law degree, I am a National Urban Fellow, with a Master's degree in Public Administration from Baruch College, and the City University of New York, (CUNY). I have served as a Special Assistant to three Mayors, including Mayor William Donald Schafer, of Baltimore, Maryland, Mayor Coleman Young, of Detroit Michigan, and Mayor Kurt L. Schmoke, of Baltimore, Maryland and Harford County, Maryland, Executive, Habern Freeman, during my thirty year career in public service. I have earned a total of five different degrees during my career. I started out working as a laborer at Bethleham Steel Mills and after being laid off, I went back to college. I worked during the day and went to night school at the University of Baltimore Law School and received my law degree in 1996.
I am knowledgeable regarding government regulations, and administrative procedures involving real estate, economic development and construction projects worth over one hundred million dollars. I also have degrees in Electronic Technology, Music Education, Communications Management, and Construction Management, and I am a former Certified Assistant Living Manager.
I am a licensed Attorney with over 20 years of experience in the practice of law in Maryland. I have a general practice that includes both criminal and civil legal services; including Juvenile and Minor Felony cases, Estate Plans, and administration, Wills and Power of Attorney, Probate matters, Family law and Divorce matters, Business and non-profit organizations, Chapter 7 & 13 Bankruptcy, Assistant Living and Nursing Home neglect matters, Personal Injury, Auto accidents, DUI, and DWI, and more.
I am a community activist, and a member of the Maryland American Civil Liberties Union. I am a former staff attorney, board member, and served as Vice-President for two years. Currently, I am an Executive Committee member of the Rosemont Community Interfaith Coalition. An organization I co-founded, which is a group of ten churches and ministries, serving the needs of the Rosemont neighborhood in southwest Baltimore. Our mission is to provide services to the needy, especially recreational, and educational activities for our youth. We sponsor an After-School Homework Help program, Back to School Event with free school supplies, and a free Summer Camp, along with other special events throughout the year.
